About Keyhole

Danish insurance-rental platform offering tenants (or renters) alternatives to traditional cash deposits, such as Keyhole Split, which allows making deposit payments in smaller installments, and Keyhole Deposit, which provides a deposit guarantee. For landlords (or property owners), Keyhole simplifies tenant onboarding and reduces financial risks through efficient tenant screening and secure deposit management.

Challenge: Growth blocked

When Keyhole started to plan expanding into Norway, copying the Danish portal just wouldn’t make it. The team realized they needed a full rethink, one that spoke the language of Norwegian landlords and tenants, but also allowed Keyhole’s product lineup grow without falling apart.

After exploring, Keyhole limited its growth blockers to just three:
